How we are keeping the business safe.

Hand sanitizer stations in entrance corridor. Floor space clear of obstructions. Floor marked with social distance tape. Screens in place on counters. The Emporium received 5 stars for food safety and we have maintained and increased the level of cleaning and sanitizing.

All contact points, door handles etc., are routinely sanitized. Only wrapped goods on display. Staff wear masks and disposable single use gloves when handling open sweet jars and ice cream. Only one family group or household at any time. A dog hitch has been fitted outside the store to allow dogs to be tethered safely.

The store is well ventilated and visitors will feel safe with the separation of customer and staff spaces. Visitors will have plenty of personal space in the store. All members of staff have been involved in drafting the risk assessment, thus every safety concern has been considered and acted upon. Yet there is still a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.

What we expect from you.

Everyone is welcome at the Alston Emporium. Please use the hand sanitizers in the entry corridor when entering the store. Abide by social distancing guidelines, which can be done by simply observing the tape markings on the floor. Please only handle items you intend to buy, don't cross through the access points in the counters. In rainy weather, you are quite welcome to shelter in the corridor whilst waiting for the previous customer to exit, however please move outside to allow anyone exiting the store. Also please observe social distancing in the corridor. We hope you will come and enjoy the experience of choosing from our extensive range of sweets from jars.
